Though past his prime as a full-time driver, Nicolas continued to influence rallying from both the driver’s seat and the boardroom during the 1980s.

• Peugeot 504 V6 Coupé: His primary car during early-1980s endurance events, including the Côte d’Ivoire win.
• Renault 5 Turbo: Competed in limited tarmac events early in the decade before stepping back from full competition.

Nicolas was one of the few drivers to successfully transition into senior management while retaining his connection to performance and car development.
