Overview
Bruno Saby, born in 1949 in Grenoble, France, was a seasoned WRC driver in the 1980s who successfully reinvented himself as a cross-country rally specialist in the 1990s. After stepping back from full-time WRC competition, Saby joined Mitsubishi’s rally raid program and became a regular contender in the Dakar Rally and other long-distance events. His adaptability, endurance, and wealth of experience made him a valuable part of Mitsubishi’s desert success and helped bridge the gap between traditional rallying and the emerging rally raid format during the decade.
