Overview
Toshihiro Arai, born in 1966 in Japan, entered the international rally scene in the late 1990s, representing Japan in the WRC at a time when Asian drivers were rare at the top level. Beginning with appearances in Group N cars, Arai steadily built experience and reputation, earning factory support and a growing presence in both national and international events. His composed driving and methodical approach made him a perfect candidate for long-term development, and his late-’90s WRC entries marked the start of what would become a highly respected career in global rallying.
