Born on January 17, 1991, in Pieksämäki, Finland, Esapekka Lappi is part of a new generation of Finnish rally stars carrying forward the country’s rich motorsport heritage. After dominating the Finnish national scene, Lappi made his name internationally by winning the 2014 European Rally Championship. His breakthrough on the world stage came in 2017 with Toyota Gazoo Racing, where he claimed an emotional first WRC win at Rally Finland in only his fourth start in a top-class car.
