Round 2 of the 1960 European Rally Championship, the Rallye International de Genève was held over three days on asphalt roads around Geneva and the nearby Mont Salève, featuring eight special stages that tested precision and endurance.
Competitors tackled eight timed tests totalling around 180 km on closed-road asphalt stages including the iconic Mont Salève hill climb, linked by approximately 1 620 km of liaison sections through the Haute-Savoie countryside.
De Lageneste and Greder combined precise pace notes with bold cornering on the hill climbs to claim overall victory. Trautmann and Ogier delivered a consistent run with the Citroën’s trademark composure, while Schild’s efforts helped secure another podium for Alfa Romeo amidst tight competition.
