Known as one of the most car-breaking events on the WRC calendar, the Acropolis Rally demanded a careful balance between speed and survival. Hirvonen once again found that balance, fending off Ford teammate Jari-Matti Latvala and capitalizing on Loeb’s mechanical issues to secure another crucial win.

Route

Elatia: Rocky mountain tracks with a mix of narrow passes and wide open hairpins — a tire and suspension killer.
Loutraki: Fast coastal gravel roads with breathtaking views and even more breathtaking drop-offs.
Aghia Marina: Extremely loose surface that turned into rutted chaos by the second pass.

The Greek stages are a punishing mix of jagged rock, loose dust, and searing heat. Notable stages included:

Ambient temperatures over 30°C combined with cabin heat meant drivers faced extreme physical strain alongside the mechanical punishment of the stages.
