Overview
The Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV, introduced in 1968 and homologated in Group 1 in 1969, was the final and most powerful evolution of Alfa’s iconic Bertone-bodied GT series of the 1960s. With its enlarged 1,962 cc twin-cam engine, refined chassis, and improved reliability, the 2000 GTV was designed to offer high performance for both road and competition use. Though it arrived late in the decade, it quickly found favor among privateer rally drivers in European national and regional championships, bridging the gap before the arrival of the more specialized 2000 GTAm in the early 1970s.
