Introduced in 1960, the Škoda Octavia Touring Sport (TS) was a high-performance version of the popular Octavia saloon. Designed with motorsport in mind, the TS was equipped with a more powerful 1.1 L or later 1.2 L engine, upgraded suspension, and improved braking. The Octavia TS quickly established itself as a formidable competitor in Central and Eastern European rallies, especially in the under-1.3L category.
The TS featured dual carburetors, a strengthened transmission, and larger drum brakes. Works-prepared rally versions received close-ratio gearboxes, auxiliary lighting, and underbody protection.
The Octavia TS built a strong rally reputation in Alpine, Scandinavian, and Eastern Bloc rallies, with performance that exceeded expectations for its class.
