Across 18 stages through the French Alps and Monaco, crews will deal with the usual Monte-Carlo problem: never really knowing what the road is going to give them. Dry asphalt can turn into standing water, snow, slush or black ice as the altitude changes, sometimes all within the same stage. That makes tyre choice, road information and simply knowing when not to push just as important as outright pace.
The rally starts from Port Hercule in Monaco on Thursday before heading into the mountains, with more than 350 competitive kilometres scheduled across four days. Everything comes down to Sunday, finishing with the 23.45 km La Bollène-Vésubie / Moulinet Power Stage before the crews return to Monaco.
