Alpine A110

Overview

The Alpine A110 appeared in 1962 as the successor to the A108. Jean Rédélé's compact berlinette combined a glass-fibre body and backbone chassis with Renault mechanical components, creating a light car whose agility suited narrow mountain roads and technical tarmac rallies.

Driving Characteristics

The A110's greatest international successes came from the late 1960s into the early 1970s. That development culminated in Alpine winning the inaugural World Rally Championship for manufacturers in 1973. Earlier text incorrectly described a 1971 victory as a WRC round, although the championship did not begin until 1973.
