Launched in 2000, the Hyundai Accent WRC was the company’s entry into top-level rallying, aiming to establish Hyundai in the global motorsport arena. Developed with limited resources compared to established giants, the Accent WRC nevertheless demonstrated flashes of competitiveness and laid the groundwork for Hyundai’s eventual WRC-winning program over a decade later.
Though not a title contender, it brought modern WRC tech to Hyundai’s engineering department.
