The rally’s narrow Belgian lanes, abrupt junctions, and deep roadside ditches rewarded precise braking and clean pace notes. Freddy Loix and Johan Gitsels won after early leader Kevin Abbring retired with a mechanical problem.
Loix and Gitsels won the 50th edition, ahead of Cherain and Leyh, with Wiegand and Christian third.
The victory was Loix’s ninth at Ypres. Craig Breen and Kevin Abbring were classified as retirements, not podium finishers.
